Follow the same directions to join the Via Verde dei Trabocchi cycle path. Once you reach Contrada Vignola, continue on Via Osca until you reach the Information Point within the Punta Aderci Nature Reserve, passing through the roundabout that leads to Via Punta Penna. The route, starting from the Vasto-San Salvo Station, is 15 km long and takes about one hour.
The cycle path is easy to follow and doesn’t present any particular difficulties. However, it’s important to pay attention to traffic, especially near the roundabout leading to Via Punta Penna.
The Punta Aderci Regional Nature Reserve protects the most beautiful and interesting stretch of coastline in Abruzzo: a succession of sandy and pebble beaches, high cliffs and rocks, agricultural landscapes and Mediterranean scrub, and the green and blue hues of a stretch of the Adriatic Sea that is easy to be amazed by. The Reserve extends from Punta Penna beach to the mouth of the Sinello River. Punta Penna is located just north of the Vasto harbor pier and is characterized by a splendid wild beach with soft golden sand. The dunes are dotted with rare plants and populated by animals such as the greater black-backed gull, the lesser black-backed gull, and the little ringed plover.
The Punta Aderci promontory offers panoramic views of the entire reserve and the surrounding mountains, including Majella, Gran Sasso-Laga, and Monti Sibillini. The landscape is varied, featuring cliffs, slopes, dunes, wetlands, and the alluvial plain of the Sinello River.
